Human evolution: Bursting the myth bubble
- Dr. Mukul S. Godbole
Don't blame me if I'm not convinced that humans
evolved solely from Apes/Monkey's. Genomic similarities ain't
sufficient. Neither is the fact that we lost a chromosome and gained a
thumb during the so-called evolution from Apes. The more
I read about evolution and genomics, the more I'm getting convinced
that humans have been "blessed" by extraterrestrial species (ET's). For
starters, Ramayan isn't a myth. It is a written proof of how three
species (Ramapethicus [early species], Neanderthals and Homo sapiens)
coexisted and worked together under the leadership of the more advanced
form, Homo sapiens. The scripture, written thousands of years ago,
appreciates the fact that humans were blessed with several distinct
aspects that shatter any theories suggesting that we evolved solely from
Apes. The stride is too much to occur naturally by evolution. Even if
we compare the intelligence of Neanderthal and Sapiens, the difference
is huge! Yes, we share genomic similarities with earlier/primitive
species. But, that doesn't appreciate how the human brain developed and
when & how we acquired the ability to address complex life problems
in a short span of time! It's about time everyone of us accept that
Bharatiya saints (Valmiki rishi; Mahabharat by Vyas rishi) were NOT
fiction writers. They closely understood and tracked the facts before
penning them into the mahakavya's (the biggest poetic scriptures).
Well, I judge people who look down at Bharatiya scriptures as myth. I pity fellow Bharatiya who make a mockery of the scriptures. I believe it's time we 'evolve' by accepting the facts. Life would be easier. The education system also deserves an overhaul. But then, evolution is a gradual process, ain't it?!
